Accessibility statement
The Fin.Connect.NRW initiative endeavours to make its web pages accessible to everyone. Websites should be designed to comply with the national legislative provisions for implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament. The following accessibility statement applies for the Fin.Connect.NRW website and was issued on 31 July 2022.
We are working on improving the accessibility of the site. However, we would ask you to bear with us because this involves modifying some of the website programming. For example, not every part of the website can be reached using keyboard functions at the moment and some components are occasionally read out in the wrong order by screen readers.
In addition to possible programming errors, there is one central problem that needs to be resolved in particular: PDF documents are frequently not accessible enough. As these files can only be modified little by little, it will take some time to rectify the problem. We are making every effort to remove the remaining barriers as quickly as possible.

Monitoring office for barrier-free information technology of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia
The NRW monitoring office for barrier-free information technology regularly checks whether and to what extent web pages and mobile applications of public sector bodies in the state comply with accessibility requirements. The aim of the monitoring office’s work is to ensure that all requirements for barrier-free information technology are met and that legal regulations are implemented across the board.
You can send an email to the monitoring office at the following address:

Arbitration/enforcement
If you have not received satisfactory replies to messages or enquiries regarding barrier-free information technology on this website, you can contact the office of the Ombudsman for Barrier-free Information Technology for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. This office is assigned to the representatives responsible for the concerns of people with disabilities in accordance with sections 10d and 10e of the North Rhine-Westphalia Disability Equality Act (BGG) and sections 9 ff. of the North Rhine-Westphalia Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BITV). With input from all those involved, the office of the ombudsman attempts to determine the circumstances surrounding the lack of accessibility so that the responsible party can remedy it. It is not a question of determining a winner or loser, but rather of finding a solution to a problem together with the aid of an arbitration board and without involving the courts.
The arbitration proceedings are free of charge and you do not need legal representation.
