The global megatrends of demographics, decarbonisation, digitalisation and deglobalisation are impacting the industrial region of NRW. In order to successfully manage structural change, companies in NRW must invest 98 billion euros annually in decarbonisation and digitalisation. The challenges are great, also in view of the fact that new technologies need to be developed and implemented.

Banks not only have to finance the transformation of companies, but also manage the credit risks resulting from the transformation. This means that measuring the sustainability of companies and transformation risks has become increasingly important for banks. This is because banks need data from transforming companies for their risk management. This event will focus on the data required for this, how transformation risks are managed and the consequences for corporate financing.

After the keynote speeches, we would like to put these questions to the experts for discussion:

  • What impact will ESG management by banks have on corporate financing?
  • Will small and medium-sized enterprises be affected by financing bottlenecks during their transformation?
  • How much bureaucracy will be involved in applying for a loan?

When?
29 August 2024 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm

Where?
Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft
