As part of the Forum Bundesbank, it is once again organizing a lecture and exchange at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences on the 15th of October. The aim is to show small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) how they can best prepare for the changing sustainability requirements in financing and what opportunities this can offer companies.

As part of global climate protection initiatives, the real economy is to be made more sustainable. The financial sector has a key role to play here. It should support companies in the transition to a sustainable economy by promoting the private financing of sustainable projects and technologies. Financial institutions are already required to take appropriate account of sustainability risks in the areas of environmental, social and corporate governance as well as transition risks. SMEs are required more than ever to report on their sustainability activities to lenders. Although, or perhaps precisely because, a comprehensive set of regulatory requirements has now been developed, the question arises as to what this means in concrete terms for SME financing.

The event is free of charge. Registration is requested.
