Background: The aim of STM 24 is to map the sustainability transformation of the economy on an evidence-based basis and to accompany the interaction between the financial and real economy in the transformation towards a more sustainable economic structure. To this end, the nationwide survey of players from the financial and real economy was specifically tailored to the circumstances of the two target groups and at the same time the questions in both surveys were mirrored according to the principle of a “lock and key logic” in order to reflect the different perspectives and also the interconnections between the two worlds to make transparent. Over the next few years, the STM will continue to systematically analyze the transformation of companies in the real and financial economy and accompany the harmonious interaction of the two worlds as well as trends and changes. The developments are researched on the basis of continued surveys in order to gain evidence-based insights into the “engine room of sustainability transformation”.
