How can small and medium-sized enterprises approach the topic of climate management within the framework of the new EU CSRD/ESRS Directive?

As society becomes more aware of sustainability, climate protection and energy efficiency, companies are increasingly becoming the focus of customers, investors and politicians. In addition, the new ESRS reporting standards are demanding more and more transparency with regard to sustainability, especially in the SME sector. Without an adequate response to this, companies could very quickly lose their reputation and also fear legal consequences in the future. In addition, rising CO₂ prices are directly contributing to cost increases in the use of fossil fuels. Last but not least, credit institutions are paying more attention to whether climate risks are sufficiently taken into account in their customers' corporate strategy when granting loans.

In this NRW.BANK seminar on Tuesday, May 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., participants will receive an overview of relevant political developments and regulations (including the ESRS & CSRD) and deal with climate-related opportunities and risks. You will be familiar with the building blocks of effective climate management, be able to derive climate targets and deal with important levers and concrete measures for CO₂ reduction and energy saving.
